Founded in 1997 on the 126th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, Chicago Fire Soccer Club provided the fans with immediate success, winning the ‘double’ in 1998. ‘The Fire’ is the most successful club in the modern U.S. Open Cup, winning it four times since 1998. Although they won the cup again in 2006, they currently stand bottom of the Eastern Conference having won just four games all season.
